Our next stop in Dallas was the beautiful campus of SMU. We have nine SMU students staying with us this summer in NYC! We were warmly greeted by the staff of the Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences, Meadows School of the Arts, Cox School of Business, and Lyle School of Engineering.
Some quick facts about each:
Dedman College of the Humanities and Sciences: The interdisciplinary Embrey Human Rights Program is dedicated to learning about and promoting human rights locally and around the world. It is one of only five human rights majors in the nation and the first in the South.
The Meadows School of the Arts: For performing arts majors, The Meadows Schools offers Performer and Artist Diplomas, much like a conservatory. Other division include Temerlin Advertising Institute, Art, Art History, Arts Management and Arts Entrepreneurship, Communication Studies, Film and Media Arts, and Journalism. The Meadows Museum houses one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of Spanish art outside of Spain.
The Lyle School of Engineering: the nation’s first engineering school to host a Lockheed Martin Skunk Works® Lab modeled after the iconic California research facility.
Cox School of Business: Among the Cox School’s advantages is its location in Dallas, frequently cited as one of the best places to pursue a career and recognized in The Economist as one of the top 15 schools worldwide for networking potential.
Major and heartfelt thanks again to all at SMU for showing us a great time and teaching us so much! Hope to visit again soon!
